A MAN has been arrested after reports of a knifing in front of horrified commuters on a London Underground train.
A Tube passenger was taken to hospital after the attack, with passengers travelling through Green Park Station on the Jubilee Line describing how cops sprinted across the platform before tackling a man in “scary” scenes.
The Tube stop was evacuated and remains closed, with a “massive” police presence.
Videos shared online show several police cars parked outside the busy station and crowds of people watching.
Another appears to show a man being arrested on the platform.
One witness said on Twitter that he appeared to have “blood-stained clothing”.
Another said the detainee was a “machete-wielding maniac”.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We are currently in attendance at Green Park Underground station following reports of a stabbing on-board a Jubilee Line service.
“Specialist officers have been deployed and the station remains closed while they attend.
“One person has been arrested in connection.”
Supt Mark Lawrie said the victim was “being cared for at hospital” and no officers were injured during the incident.
He added that the weapon had been recovered and praised the work of plain clothed officers.
