July 9 – Kylian Mbappé may have missed a penalty at the Euros, but he is still the world’s most valuable player at €175 million, according to updated player market value estimates by KPMG Football Benchmark.
Even so, Mbappé’s market value has dropped by €14 million over the past three months in a market that generally is showing little sign of growth or return to pre-pandemic levels.
KPMG reports that player values have been stagnant over the past nine months when aggregate market values were showing slight increases.
