Signature on president’s website by user named Joe Biden is planned hacker attack
The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, at the request of the President’s Office, audited the situation with the signature of an electronic petition on the presidential website by a user named Joe Biden, which revealed that this case was a planned hacker attack.
According to the press service of the State Service of Special Communications on June 25, during the audit the fact of a fictitious vote was established using the stolen key of an improved electronic signature generated by a qualified provider of electronic trust services of JSC PrivatBank.
“Such actions are a targeted hacker attack of a high level of complexity. According to experts of the State Service of Special Communications, such an attack can only be carried out if at least three conditions are met: compromise of a private key (illegal seizure and use); an expensive targeted hacker attack with a preparation of several months; the use of a human factor of persons having access to key generation,” the service said.
The service said their specialists immediately started a large-scale operation aimed at a complete check of the system of electronic trust services.
