Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor To Star In Upcoming Thriller I Heart Murder
Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor will star in the upcoming Sony thriller I Heart Murder. Dynevor has become best known in the last year for playing the eldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne in the Netflix hit series Bridgerton. Often described as Gossip Girl meets Pride & Prejudice, the series is set in Regency Era-London during the early 1800s and follows the aristocratic Bridgerton family's lives during the competitive debutante season. Dynevor's character's tumultuous romance with Duke of Hastings Simon (Regé-Jean Page) was the primary focus of the first season, which began streaming on Netflix in December 2020. The will-they-won't-they romance between Simon and Daphne made Dynevor a breakout star, and now she is taking on other big projects.
Per Deadline, Dynevor is set to star in Sony Pictures' upcoming film I Heart Murder. The female-driven thriller is helmed by Ingrid Goes West director Matt Spicer, who has also written the screenplay along with Tom O’Donnell. The film is produced by Oscar-winner Doug Wick (Gladiator), with Lucy Fisher's Red Wagon Entertainment producing. Details surrounding the plot and other cast members have not been revealed yet.
Since starring in Bridgerton, Dynevor most recently finished filming The Colour Room, a drama film she is starring in opposite Matthew Goode. Dynevor will also return for Bridgerton season 2, but unlike the first season, the second part will not revolve around Daphne's story. Instead, season 2 will follow Daphne's eldest brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) as he sets out to find his own love interest.
While not much has been revealed about Dynevor's new film, it already sounds like quite a departure from Bridgerton. With Bridgerton season 2 delving more into Anthony's life and focusing less on Daphne, Dynevor fans will still get to see a lot more of her now that she will be leading this new thriller film. While it's unclear when I Heart Murder will see a release, more information is likely to come out in the near future.
