Marvel's First Openly Gay 'Captain America' Shines In Debut Preview

Marvel's newest Cap, Aaron Fischer is about to make their debut in the pages of Marvel Comics and a new preview shows how they're the perfect person for the role. In The United States of Captain America #1, the first openly gay 'Captain America' will make their debut. The story sees Fischer channel their inner Captain America to help figure out why a group of kids from the Railways have gone missing.
The United States of Captain America is an upcoming miniseries following the characters who have become the iconic hero in the comics, as well as a new group of local Captain America's called "Captains" who protect their own community. Among the new Captains, is Joe Gomez, the first Indigenous Captain America, and a new Filipino shield-bearer named Arielle Agbayani. The new Captains' stories are done by diverse, talented creative teams. The main storyline by Christopher Cantwell and Dale Eaglesham sees the different Captain America's traveling across the United States to find Steve Rogers' stolen shield, which will coincide with meeting the new Captains throughout the country.
In new previews for United States of Captain America #1 (H/T CBR) by Cantwell, Eaglesham, Josh Trujillo, Jan Bazaldua, and Alanna Smith, Aaron Fischer's Marvel Comics debut is revealed. The queer 'Captain America' takes to the Railways to try to track down a group of missing kids. They note unhoused kids have disappeared throughout the city. Fischer admits to knowing how it feels to be abandoned and having no one on their side. They make it their own personal mission to locate the lost kids.
Standing in front of a giant mural of Sam Wilson's Captain America, Fischer says they can look out for the kids in a way nobody did for them - because that's what a Captain America would do in the situation.
Fischer clearly has a big heart and cares deeply about their fellow kids who have gone missing on the Railways. They will become a Captain themselves and sport their own shield while searching for the true cause of all the disappearances in their community. With Captain America as their inspiration, Fischer seems to be on the right track to becoming a great hero. Due to their sheer determination and caring attitude, Aaron Fischer will hopefully solve the troubling case, likely getting an assist from Captain America himself. The United States of Captain America #1 is in comic book stores next week.
