Dan Biggar tipped as best man to wash Lions kit in South Africa this summer by team-mate Ken Owens
KEN OWENS hopes Dan Biggar is in charge of looking after his PANTS this summer on the Lions tour.
Skipper Alun Wyn Jones was making the biggest announcement of the next seven weeks as he revealed which players would be in charge of what committees in South Africa.
The hotly-anticipated meeting came after Warren Gatland’s topless stars spent the day in icy -160 degree freezers to help their recovery after their first training session in Jersey.
And hooker Owens, a New Zealand tourist in 2017, was pitching for his Wales teammate and fly-half Biggar to be in charge of his smalls after a spell in the frosty cryogenic chamber sessions.
Owens said: “You probably want to get yourself on the laundry committee – that is always a pretty good job as Dan Biggar does it well and takes responsibility in that area.
“He is just organised, to be fair to him. He does that pretty well. He’s an old head, especially within the Welsh squad. He’s done a pretty good job over the years.
“He makes sure the laundry is picked up on time and is dropped off – and if there are issues – kit hasn’t come back or goes into someone else’s bag – the boys go to them and it’s up to them to find your gear.
“I am sure Alun Wyn has put a lot of it together and we will find out our designated jobs over this coming tour.”
With a mix of English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish players in the Lions squad a lot of the chat off the pitch has also been about the current Euro 2020 football.

Scottish scrum-half Ali Price, who actually grew-up in Norfolk, was being consoled after the Tartan Army’s first group game defeat to the Czech Republic.
And ahead of Friday night’s mammoth game against Auld Enemy England at Wembley, the football chat is set to dominate the rugby camp.
Footy fan Owens added: “I’ve had a couple of conversations with some of the backroom staff.
“I’m a big Welsh supporter and enjoyed my time out in France five years ago, watching the boys get to the semi-final.

“I wish all the Welsh boys all the very best and they have games coming up against Turkey and Italy.
“I’m sure as the tournament goes on it’ll be something good to watch, bring the boys together and have a bit of banter.
“Scotland lost earlier so Ali Price isn’t looking too happy.
“It’s definitely something to have a bit of fun over, bring the boys together and something to watch in the evenings.”
