Would The Spurs Take Matthew Hurt?

There are different levels to the NBA draft. If you’re a Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett or Jayson Tatum, you know you’ll go very near the top.
If you’re Austin Rivers, Cam Reddish or Mason Plumlee, you know you’re going to go somewhere in the first round. And if you’re, say, Tre Jones, Gary Trent or Matthew Hurt, you won't know until you know.
But if you end up in the second round, or undrafted, just about the best thing that could happen to you is that the Spurs want you.
It’s not clear that the Spurs are looking at Hurt but this article makes the case that they might be.
And given their track record for developing young players, it’d be a great home for Hurt. He’d also have a small advantage in that the Spurs already have Jones on the team and his former Blue Devil teammate will help him get up to speed on the NBA and the way the Spurs do things.
All things considered, San Antonio might be a great landing place for Duke’s talented shooter.
