A pregnant woman and her unborn child have died after being struck by a car while walking in a town centre.
The driver, a 31-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
The 39-year-old victim, who was six months pregnant, was struck by a black Nissan Pathfinder on the A508 in Northampton on Saturday afternoon.
She was hit at the junction of Greyfriars and Horsemarket at 2pm.
The woman was rushed to University Hospital Coventry but medics were unable to save her or her unborn baby.
Police said the driver of the Nissan is in custody being questioned over the incident.
