Big Brother: Elena Davies Hospitalized For Unknown 'Extreme Pain'
Former Big Brother contestant Elena Davies has been hospitalized for an unknown "extreme pain." The season 19 alum has been giving fans updates on her Instagram stories; however, doctors have yet to come to a conclusion on what is causing her pain. Elena was initially taken to the emergency room earlier this week.
Elena competed on Big Brother season 19 in 2017. While she was not exactly one of the many controversial players during that season, Big Brother fans have mixed emotions about Elena. After her time on the show, she grew a large social media following, which she uses to voice her opinions on topics that typically are not discussed openly. In March, Elena took her followers along as she underwent surgery for complications from her 2016 breast reduction procedure. On top of the surgery, Elena was also dealing with a strained shoulder muscle as well as a pinched nerve at the time.
Elena healed from the breast surgery, quickly returning to her everyday life. She even attended the birthday party for the daughter of fellow Big Brother alum Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson just weeks later. Now, one month later, the strained shoulder muscle has sent her back to the hospital. Elena has been sharing updates on her Instagram Story since initially heading to the hospital earlier this week. She revealed that she had woken up in pain that she described as both "severe" and "extreme." In the first of many Stories which are now found in a highlight section on her page, Elena explained that it was "nerve damage pain" stemming from her left shoulder and "radiating down" to her fingertips. Because of the severity of the pain, Elena was not able to "sit, stand or walk for more than 5 minutes or so."
Doctors could not even get Big Brother alum Elena to lay still long enough to complete the MRI imaging. On Friday, Elena saw a neurosurgeon, who later had her return to the emergency room in an effort to gain some pain management medications. Although they were hoping the medications would help her push through the MRI, doctors were yet again unsuccessful. Elena posted a lengthy list of the medications the doctors had given her prior to attempting a second MRI. Without proper MRI imaging, doctors cannot find a cause to her excruciating pain. Now Elena will need to go under anesthesia in order to complete the imaging. Although Elena is typically quite active on social media, she has rarely been on her phone since her first trip to the ER earlier this week, aside from her seldom updates.
As of this writing, Elena has yet to give any further updates. It is assumed that she is receiving the anesthesia for a third attempt at an MRI sometime today. Everyone is sending well wishes to the Big Brother alum for a speedy recovery.
