About a hundred people were detained in the US state of Minnesota during the riots that took place on Friday evening during a protest in connection with the death of an African American Dante Wright at the hands of police, local KSTP TV channel reports, citing authorities.
Protesters gathered again at the Brooklyn Center Police Department, marking the sixth night of the protests. Due to the unrest, the authorities imposed a curfew on Saturday night.
Harrington did not specify what charges would be brought against the detainees.
Earlier, the Minnesota police said that the employee confused a stun gun with a pistol and shot the African American Dante Wright, who escaped from the hands of law enforcement officers during the arrest. The death of an African American sparked protests. Minnesota authorities have determined that Wright was shot by a 26-year-old Brooklyn Center police officer, Kim Potter. She was administratively suspended under the standard procedure.
