Four games and time for some home truths.
Cunningham - Has shown nothing to suggest he is anything more than a championship half, no runs from dummy half that get anywhere, doesn't try close to the line - 2/10
Jones - Way too slow to have any impact, whether its covid related or whatever i don't know, has done a few flashy offloads and makes yards AFTER contact, but for the money he is being paid, rubbish 3/10
Yates - Not seen any barnstorming runs, we already carry lawrence in attack for his defensive work so definitely didn't need another defensive workhorse, not the type of prop we needed 5/10
Ashworth - Looks promising but clearly unfit, the best signing on appearances so far, but limited impact due to his fitness levels - 5/10
Cogger - Journeyman aussie half, doesn't take the line on, average skillset, adds very little when Sezar is fully fit, reminds me entirely of Frawley - 5/10
Leutele - Unlucky with the injury, from his wolfpack performances looked class, but it's forwards we need not backs, out pack is utter gash - N/A
Overall, the players we have signed have not complemented what we already had, we need BIG BARNSTORMING forwards with an offload that can set a platform in the ilk of Crabtree, Griffin, Kopjak(in his prime). There is literally noone out there creating ruck speed and laying the platform for others. Often it is tackle 5 before a forward even touches the ball. I know its fashionable for backs to run out of defence we often do this for FOUR tackles and the forwards dont put their hands up , hence we are still in our own half when it comes to the 5th.
Some players are only ever good at one club, maybe Watson is going to be a coach who was only ever good at one club, we have been bossed by three packs now, including Hull KR who are a bottom half of the table side, the win against Leigh proves nothing, they are clearly still a championship side.
