Harry Kane has voiced his disappointment at leaving Goodison Park with just a point on Friday night, but did not comment on the injury that forced him off in stoppage time.
The Tottenham striker scored twice but Jose Mourinho’s men could only manage a 2-2 draw with Everton as their pursuit of Champions League football took another hit.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s brace against his former club completed a turnaround for the Toffees after Kane’s first-half opener had put Spurs ahead.
But the England captain eventually equalised with his second brilliantly taken strike of the game – both goals came from Everton mistakes, but Kane finished with power and composure.
However, the 27-year-old was forced off with what appeared to be an ankle injury in stoppage time after Richarlison fell on his foot, which was planted in the turf.
Kane was limping and was caught on camera shaking his head at full-time, just over a week before Tottenham’s League Cup final meeting with Manchester City.
After the game, Kane took to Twitter and wrote: “Disappointed with only a point. Big week coming up.”
The extent of Kane’s injury is currently unclear but it’s safe to say Spurs will be desparately hopeful he can recover before the cup final.
