Ozzie Albies of the Braves had to leave their win over the Cubs after getting hit by a pitch, Fox Sports reports. The good news is that a sweeping curveball hit him; the bad is that it looked to either have connected directly on his shin bone or knee cap. Albies had doubled and scored in four at-bats before leaving the game. There is no word yet as to the severity of the injury.
The Astros will give Kyle Tucker the night off Friday in Seattle, RotoWire reports. This will be the first game off for Tucker this season. Some might consider this curious timing as the team is without Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, and Alex Bregman due to the COVID protocol. Still, Tucker was 0-5 Wednesday and may need a day off as he is only batting .204 this season.
The Twins won’t have Byron Buxton in the starting lineup Friday, RotoWire reports. Buxton is dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep him sidelined for the fourth consecutive game. This is the story of Buxton’s career. When healthy, he produces, but he seems to miss almost as much time or more than he plays.
Gavin Lux has a wrist issue and isn’t starting for the Dodgers versus the Padres on Friday, RotoWire reports. A.J. Pollock will also remain out of the starting lineup, according to RotoWire.
The White Sox have reinstated Dylan Cease from the injured list, RotoWire reports. This move was expected as Cease was supposed to start versus the Red Sox on Friday. That game, however, was postponed due to snow and rain. Cease is probable to start Saturday.
The return of Fernando Tatis wasn’t the only good news for the Padres; they will also get Wil Myers back from knee inflammation Friday, RotoWire reports.
Mike Moustakas was taken out of the starting lineup by the Reds due to a non-COVID-related illness, RotoWorld reports.
