LeBron is still three weeks away from returning. From a medical perspective, is this a good or bad thing?

I analyzed LeBron’s extended return timeline (reportedly six weeks) and how it fits with the Lakers’ medical strategy.

LeBron James has missed over three weeks with a “high ankle sprain” and according to the latest report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN — as of this past Saturday — the Lakers star is set to miss roughly three more weeks recovering from the injury.

For more information on the injury itself, you can watch my primer on it, but as far as this latest report is concerned, that timeline from Woj puts LeBron’s recovery near the far end parameter of the “four to six weeks” timeline that the team’s medical staff originally announced.

In the following video, I gave my medical perspective on this new information, and what it indicates about both James’ rehab and the goals of the Lakers’ medical and training staff.
