HENRY C. TURNER, JR.

Henry is a retired U.S. Army officer with over 20 years of experience in logistics and Acquisition.  He is a Gulf War combat veteran.  During his distinguished military career, he served in many challenging positions, some of which are listed here:  Served as the Operations Officer for the Defense Logistics Agency in Saudi Arabia; Served on the Pentagon’s Joint Staff Intern program (with then) Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin Powell; Served as an intern in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for (then) Secretary of Defense, The Honorable Dick Cheney; Served as the Military Assistant to the Acting Secretary of the Army, The Honorable Robert M. Walker. He represented Mr. Walker on numerous occasions at the White House, with Members of Congress, at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, with other Federal Government agencies and with private industry.  During his distinguished military career, he was awarded numerous military awards including two Legion of Merit Medals, a Bronze Star Medal, and numerous other awards.  Henry hails from a family rooted in military service.  His father served in the military for over 30 years.  Henry’s brothers are both West Point graduates who completed over 20 years of military service.  His sister is a graduate of the Naval Academy, and spent over 20 years in the U.S. Navy.  Henry earned his BA from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and holds an MBA from Babson College.  In 2008, Henry was appointed Chairman of the Prince George’s County Inaugural Commission for Veterans.  Henry is committed to changing the lives of Veterans, and all Prince Georgians through Economic Empowerment, job creation and business ownership.  He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and currently serves as the First Vice Commander, American Legion Post 381 located in Baden/Brandywine, MD.  Henry and his wife Winifred E. Turner (also a retired military officer) reside in Upper Marlboro, MD.  They have three adult children and one grandson.
