Bachelorette: Tayshia Adams Explains Why Cast Never Eats on the Show

Former Bachelorette Tayshia Adams finally explains why they never show the lead or the contestants eating on the show. For years, viewers have wondered why the contestants never take one bite of their food during their one-on-one dates with the lead. As they are in conversation during the dinner dates, the food is just sitting there, completely untouched. This notion has bothered fans for years, and now Tayshia is finally confirming what viewers have been so curious about.

Tayshia has appeared on all three Bachelor franchise shows: The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise, and most recently, The Bachelorette. She made it all the way to the final three during Colton Underwood's season but was sent home after he realized his true feelings. Tayshia then appeared on BIP where she formed a relationship with John Paul Jones, but the couple wasn't able to work it out. Third times a charm for Tayshia, as she found the love of her life, Zac Clark, on The Bachelorette.

During a recent interview with Delish, the 30-year-old opened up about why they never show the lead or the contestants eating on the show. Tayshia has appeared on the franchise too many times not to know what goes down with the food during dinner dates. "As far as The Bachelor goes, I know everybody is so concerned as to why we don't ever eat the food on the dates," she said, explaining, "It's generally because there's cameras and mics and all that and it would be kind of hard to get your sound bytes while you're chewing and eating." Tayshia added that contestants usually eat before the date to avoid any chewing sound the mics may pick up. However, she has been tempted to take a bite out of the date food.

Ever since Tayshia completed her journey to find love on The Bachelorette, she and fiancé Zac Clark have been living in New York City and haven't had the time to get excited about cooking. However, Zac also does not currently have the necessary appliances or cookware for Tayshia to make a proper meal. "When we get a new place, a bigger place, we're gonna start cooking more," she said. "But for now, we're having fun exploring the city and getting lots of food ordered in." Once Tayshia and Zac find the perfect NYC apartment with a fabulous kitchen, she will be whipping up the most delicious homemade meals for her fiancé.

Tayshia has finally solved the mystery as to why The Bachelor contestants never eat the meals they are given during one-on-one dates. Her reasoning makes sense as the audience wouldn't enjoy hearing two people chew on their food while simultaneously listening to them confess their love for one another.
