Mourinho explains what gave Tottenham ‘different intensity’ against Fulham
Jose Mourinho insisted that Tottenham deserved their win over Fulham despite riding their luck at times.
Tottenham claimed a 1-0 triumph at Craven Cottage after a Tosin own goal. However, the hosts asked plenty of questions of Mourinho’s side in the second half.
Fulham even had an equaliser disallowed by VAR after the ball had struck Mario Lemina’s arm before Josh Maja’s finish.
Scott Parker’s men had more shots and possession than Tottenham, but Mourinho still thinks his side deserved all three points.
Mourinho told BT Sport: “I believe we were the team that had the biggest chances to score and to kill the game.
“We didn’t and then the second half, until we made some changes, they were the team that was pushing.
“We had to defend of course well and Hugo (Lloris) had to make a couple of important saves.”

Mourinho praises changes
Mourinho thus had to respond to Fulham’s pressure, sending on Lucas Moura, Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela as substitutes.
The Spurs boss thinks those changes helped their management of the game.
He added: “I believe when we changed players we gave a different intensity to the team.
“We were more solid defensively, we were more dangerous on counter-attack and we kept the ball away from our first third and in the end it was difficult.
“This is the Premier League and there are no easy ones but I thought we deserved (it).”
