SERIAL killer Anthony Sowell has died in prison at the age of 61 after being convicted of murdering 11 women.
Sowell – known as the Cleveland Strangler – left the bodies of his victims to rot around his home in Ohio.

In the next week, a total of 11 victims were found in and around his home.
Sowell lured the women to his house, often with the promise of drink or drugs, before strangling them.
Crystal Dozier went missing in May 2007.
The mother-of-seven was reported missing to Cleveland Police Department by her family.
More than two years later, the 38-year-old’s body was dug up at Sowell’s home, by a fence in his back yard.

The 31-year-old, who had several drug convictions, was last seen by her family in June 2008 – but was never reported missing.
The mom-of-four was identified as one of Sowell’s victims in November 2009.

The mother-of-three disappeared in August 2008.
Only her skull was found in Sowell’s house by investigators, in a bucket.

She had been missing for more than a year when police discovered her body buried in Sowell’s back yard in 2009.
Carmichael appeared to have been strangled and was identified through the use of DNA evidence.
Michelle Mason lived in Sowell’s neighborhood[/caption]Michelle Mason’s family reported her missing in October 2008 after not hearing from her for a few days.
The 45-year-old lived near Sowell’s neighborhood and had managed to kick her drug habits.
She was identified at one as Sowell’s victims.

The 44-year-old was last seen in January 2009, but wasn’t reported missing until November that year.
She was the only one of Sowell’s victims to not have children.

The 43-year-old, who was living with her daughter about three blocks from Sowell’s house, was reported missing to police in June 2009.
The mom-of-four had a history of drug abuse.

The 47-year-old vanished in April 2009, but was not reported missing until November, when police began removing bodies from Sowell’s house.
A previous injury had left the mother-of-three unable to use one of her arms.

Police searched unsuccessfully for the 48-year-old after she was reported missing in August that year.
