Tottenham finally name price for permanent Dele Alli exit after deciding against PSG loan
Tottenham have reportedly named their price for Dele Alli after deciding against allowing him to join PSG on loan in the January transfer window.
The Spurs attacking midfielder has fallen completely out of favour with Jose Mourinho this season. Indeed, he was left out of the squad again for Sunday’s Premier League win at Sheffield United.
PSG emerged as the main suitors for the 24-year-old over the summer and had three bids knocked back for his services.
However, as the days tick by until the January window closes, the French giants have stepped up their pursuit again.
And with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino now at the helm in Paris, there is an even stronger chance of a deal being done.
But according Canal Supporters via Le Parisien (as cited by CaughtOffside), Tottenham will only allow Dele to leave permanently.
The report states that the north London club will demand a €50million (£45m) fee for the England man.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult to deal with, and although a loan deal with an option to buy could still be on the cards – that will be much harder to agree than a straight money sale.
Dele pushing for Spurs exit
As for the player himself, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Dele is pushing for the switch.
The final straw is likely to have come after Gedson Fernandes was preferred on the bench against the Blades.
Le Parisien adds that ‘they find it hard to believe that Leonardo will secure the transfer of anyone else other than Dele this month’.
The PSG transfer chief is also on the hunt for an unhappy Lionel Messi. However, the focus for that mega deal is more towards the summer.
Dele has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, but only six have been starts.
He is desperate for the game time to force his way back into the England squad for Euro 2020. And playing under his old boss Pochettino in Paris could give him the perfect opportunity to do so.
Both clubs have until February 1 to get the deal done.
