Escalating tensions between the US and Russia could reach unprecedented levels.
On Wednesday, January 20, Joe Biden will take over the White House as the 46th President of the United States. Although many Americans supported the Democrat in the election, opposing Donald Trump’s destructive policies, Biden may well compete with his predecessor.
The only difference is that Trump focused on the confrontation with Iran and China. Biden, known for his Russophobia, will return to a fierce confrontation with the Russian Federation, political analyst Yevgeny Satanovsky is sure.
The expert is sure that one should not rely on the normalization of Russian-American relations after the rotation in the White House. On the contrary, the international crisis will only get worse. If we take into account that the United States is building up its military presence at the Russian borders, the escalation could one day develop into a full-fledged armed confrontation.
To avoid the worst-case scenario, according to the analyst, Russia needs to prepare a “decent response” to the provocations of the United States.
At the same time, Satanovsky does not rule out that relations between Moscow and Washington can really improve, but only if the American administration is afraid to make anti-Russian attacks.
