DEAR DEIDRE: THE carers who look after my mum are useless and I now worry they may have stolen money from her.
Mum needs a lot of care after a stroke. She’s 67 and still lives in her own home. I am three doors down so I’m with her a lot. I’m 47.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

I’ve got two sisters who rarely help with her care as they both live further away.
As a result, I have a poor relationship with both of them.
Now money has gone missing and I don’t want to point the finger, but if I don’t work this out I know my sisters will think it’s me.
It has to be one of the carers.
There is no other logical explanation, but I don’t know what to do.
DEIDRE SAYS: First, you should ask your mum about it if you can.
If she’s unsure, then ask the carers whether they know if your mum may have mislaid the money.
They will at least know you are on to them if one has taken it. But right now, you don’t know that for sure.
Let your sisters know – they may trust you more if you tell them before they find out themselves.
You can report it as a theft to the police, or talk it through with wearehourglass.org (0808 808 8141) who help with abuse towards the elderly, including financial issues.
