Below Deck's Julia D'Albert Pusey is pioneering her two women-run businesses after a successful season on the hit nautical show back in season 1. The fan-favorite is also back on Bravo's Galley Talk to share her words of wisdom with viewers. The Below Deck franchise follows around yachties and charter guests who sail the high seas.
Throughout the seasons, viewers have been introduced to many cast members. Some of the cast members have that special something that makes them popular with the fans. One particularly memorable cast member was Julia, who tried her best to be a people pleaser. She won acclaim for her friendly attitude and smile.
Screen Rant recently caught up with Julia as she now owns two stellar businesses, Myrtle and Maude and Renée. The reality star revealed that she decided to open another business saying, "I have learned so much from starting 'Myrtle & Maude' in 2016, that I think it would be a shame not to adapt this knowledge to another business, especially an industry that I studied for years." Whatever Julia is doing, she is doing it right since consumers and fans love her products.
While her background is in fashion, Julia said she was used to the more "technical side, like creating the patterns and the construction of the garment, which lends itself well to product development. I haven't really ever had a ''proper job'' working in an office, so you can say I learned on the job."None of the companies took off overnight as the Bravo alum revealed, "I believe even if I studied business at university setting up a business with your own money and taking that leap of faith is going to be a 'labor of love' as there are so many trials and tribulations throughout the process and these ups and downs don't stop even when you feel you are over the hill, it took two years for me to realize 'Myrtle & Maude' could become a fully-fledged business."
Fans may be interested to know that the idea of her first company, Myrtle and Maude, came from working on yachts, revealing, "So I was working on the yachts, and I created 'travel bands' for seasickness and sold them on eBay, it was a great success, and pregnant women were buying them, so I saw a gap in the market that there wasn't much out there for 'morning sickness' so I researched the concept, tested the market with a small batch of products - I saw this could work and 'Myrtle & Maude' was born!!" While she self-funded Myrtle and Maude, she is currently looking for investors for her swimwear company, Renée. She is hoping to fast-track her swimwear line to success, and let's be honest, when this pandemic is over, we will want to head out on a nice vacation with some new suits! Julia also gave fans a hint on what they would expect from the line saying, "Sustainability, cool and chic."
Julia is also back in the Bravo chair after she received a call from the producer to join the cast. Naturally, the Leed's native decided it was a good idea right away. Fans have already gravitated toward Jules and Josiah as they are extremely fun. But Julia's ultimate goal is to be at a point in her life where she is happy with how she has grown her business and, of course, making a profit. In the world of #MeToo, it is nice for fans to get a glimpse of a female entrepreneur making waves in her not one but two industries. Fans should keep an eye out as one day maybe Julia will be the one chartering the yacht.
