Russian Duma member Sergei Zheleznyak has said that the Nord Stream 2 project will definitely be completed, despite strong opposition from the United States, RIA FAN reported.
“The Russian-European gas project Nord Stream 2 will be brought to its logical conclusion despite constant opposition from the United States” , – Zheleznyak said. – “The final laying of the pipeline section in the German exclusive economic zone is yet another proof of the firm commitment of Russia’s European partners to provide their citizens with quality fuel at a competitive price”.
The deputy reminded that the authorities of the partner states of the project, such as Germany or Austria, prioritize their national interests and have repeatedly declared that the American pressure on the energy project is illegal.
“With its actions, Berlin emphasises the exclusively commercial nature of the Nord Stream 2 project. And Germany has no doubts about its economic benefit”, – the MP said. – “Obviously, illegal sanctions and pressure on Russia by our opponents will continue in the coming years, including in the area of developing Russian-European cooperation.”
