Every year, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians cast does a variety of things that can easily be classified as controversial. 2020 was no different, as the Kardashian-Jenner family has repeatedly proved they're on the top of the drama list.
On any given week, it's hard for normal people to relate to the Kardashians. With their vast amounts of wealth, anything they want is at their fingertips, leading to extravagant birthday parties, ridiculously expensive clothes, and controversial social media posts. But with the entire globe facing a worldwide pandemic, the Kardashians seemed even more removed from reality in 2020, making their worst moments even harder to ignore. Unsurprisingly, the famous family managed to upset quite a few of their fans over the course of the year.
While the rest of the world spoke openly about the US Presidential election, the Kardashians and Jenners stayed quiet on who they would vote for. Many other celebrities came out to endorse a candidate, but there was an eerie silence from the Kardashian-Jenner crew on the subject. Now, it could be said the reason for this was Kanye's presidential run and eventual failure. But that still doesn't make it right, as it sent a wrong message to millions of people who follow the family. Moreover, after Joe Biden's win, the family openly supported him over Trump, raising even more questions about why they didn't speak out before the election.
While the year 2020 has been full of drama for everyone, the Kardashians and Jenners took it to a whole new level. The family was vocal about the COVID-19 situation and urged their fans to take it seriously and practice social distancing. While this is certainly a good thing, it can also be viewed as a publicity stunt. While they told people to self-isolate and take precautions, they themselves were disregarding orders and guidelines. They've not only flaunted their privileges and wealth, but also made a lot of questionable travel decisions. They were seen throwing family parties, meeting up with multiple people, and celebrating Kim's 40th birthday amid the pandemic's harshest months. Among other cringey things that happened in 2020, fans also found out Kylie Jenner is not a billionaire! While most people know Kylie for being the youngest billionaire ever, a lot of evidence proved otherwise. The self-made billionaire tag turned out to be just that, self-made. Earlier in the year, Forbes stripped Kylie of her billionaire status. It was revealed she deceived them about her finances and fabricated some of her earnings. While this news sounds genuine, Kylie's side of the story says something else. The 23-year-old E! star revealed she never asked for any billionaire title and denied forging tax returns. Another upsetting moment that happened during 2020 was the reunion of Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson after two cheating scandals. Plus, there was a physical altercation between the two Jenner sisters, Kendall and Kylie. On top of that, the family announced that Keeping Up With The Kardashians is ending and its final season will air in 2021. In short, there was plenty of drama to go around for the Kardashian-Jenner crew this year.
