Yabuki and Ouchi make weight for Japanese title fight
Tomorrow fight fans at the Aioi Hall in Kariya will get the chance to see Japanese Light Flyweight champion Masamichi Yabuki (11-3, 11) [佐藤政道] make his first defense of his title, as he takes on Toshimasa Ouchi (22-9-3, 8) [大内 淳雅].
Today, ahead of their bout, the two men took part in their weigh in and both men managed to make the 108lb limit with out any problems. In fact both men came in bang on the divisional limit.
The hard hitting Yabuki, who is world ranked by the WBC, IBF and WBO, is looking to secure a world title fight in the near future. He will know that his performance against Ouchi here could well make or break his chances of getting a bout at the world level in 2021. With that in mind we're expecting a very impressive performance from him, as he looks to throw his hand into the ring for potential bouts against the likes of Kenshrio Teraji.
As for Ouchi this is likely to be his final notable fight and if the 35 year old loses here, in what is his third Japanese title fight, then the end is probably nigh for his career.
