Sucker Punch just added a Bloodborne inspired outfit to Ghost of Tsushima Legends. This guide will explain how to unlock it for the Ronin class.
Anybody not playing Ghost of Tsushima is missing out. The game was nominated in almost every category at the Game Awards 2020, taking home the win for Best Art Direction and falling behind The Last of Us 2 in every other category. While Ghost's solo campaign is an innovative gaming experience in itself, the multiplayer mode, Legends, is the current meta.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends matches players in a co-op PvE experience where they can either play through three-stage story missions or fight in a wave-based survival game. Either way, their Legends journey will always be narrated by Greg Baldwin, aka Uncle Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korah. Baldwin obviously took over for the late-great Mako Iwamatsu after his passing in 2006. The game's most recent update added four new outfits for each class to unlock. This guide will explain how players can unlock the Bloodborne outfit in Ghost of Tsushima Legends for their Ronin class.
Until January 15th, players will be able to unlock unique outfits from Bloodborne, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Shadow of Colossus. Thankfully, these outfits are easily attainable and look amazing. To unlock the Bloodborne outfits in Ghost of Tsushima Legends, players must complete one story or survival mission while playing as the Ronin. That's it.
The Ronin is the healer of the bunch. His special ability, Breath os Izanaami, will revive any downed Ghost from anywhere on the map. Paired with the right techniques, Breath of Izanami will also heal the Ronin's allies as well. Any survival squad must be running one, if not two, Ronin on their roster. They'll be able to heal their allies at a moment's notice.
It's not crystal clear why Ghost of Tsushima chose Bloodborne to inspire their latest Ronin outfit. However, it's not surprising that these new outfits dropped shortly after the Game Awards. Bloodborne was nominated for a handful of awards back in 2015, including Game of the Year, Best Art Direction, and Best Role Playing Game. However, Bloodborne failed to bring home any significant wins as it fell behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Is Ghost of Tsushima Legends paying homage to games that fell inches short of their competitor? Fans of the game would agree that if The Last of Us 2 didn't exist, Sucker Punch would probably run out of storage space to put all their trophies.
No matter the reasoning, players love when games can share characters. Fortnite has been doing it for years now with its integration of Marvel, Star Wars, and, most recently, God of War. Perhaps Sucker Punch will continue to release new cosmetic items for Ghost of Tsushima Legends. They know all too well that players are harkening for a PvP experience too.
Ghost of Tsushima is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
