A guide explaining how to quickly collect gifts in Satisfactory. This will help any player who wants to quickly advance in the FICSMAS event.
Set on an alien world where players are can build their own factory, Satisfactory recently implemented a seasonal FICSMAS event for the Christmas season. Adding festive reskins to certain objects and allowing players to build a myriad of decorations, this special event will remain available to all players until January 18th.
One of the most notable items in the FICSMAS events are the presents. These giant gifts wrapped in red ribbon—presumably being dropped by FICSIT—will be falling from the sky every time the player logs into the game. These presents are the building blocks for almost every item in the event one way or another, as they are often used as crafting components for FICSMAS parts. As such, players will understandably want to collect as many as possible to get the most out of the event.
The first method is also the one players will have to rely on to get started. It just consists of running around and collecting the presents by foot. These Christmas gifts often land on the ground, but it is not uncommon for them to also get caught on machinery or conveyor lines if they happen to drop over a factory. For players who have already played the game extensively and set up several factories, they can collect presents while working on their factory.
But regardless of if players are running through factories or gallivanting across the wilderness, having a pair of blade runners equipped will make gift collecting so much easier. Unlocked through the caterium research tree, this piece of equipment significantly increases the player’s running speed and jump height. For a player who wants to loot an entire area of presents, blade runners will become the player’s best friend.
But if the player has not unlocked this equipment, then they can try building a vehicle as a means of quick traversal. Even a basic tractor, which is unlocked at tier 3, can be helpful in carting the player around to look for presents. The storage is a nice bonus too.
It’s not a guarantee, but there are times when the FICSMAS calendar can grant the player presents. Don’t know what the calendar is or where it is found? Don’t worry, it is easy to miss for anyone who hasn’t read about the event. But for the event, developers placed a special calendar in the HUB. The so-called “calendar” should look like a photo and is located right next to the HUB terminal. Click on it and players will see that photo close up and possibly notice that there are faded numbers hidden all over the picture.
Click on those numbers, and the calendar should open up and reveal a reward. But not all numbers can be pressed immediately. The numbers unlock over time according to which date they correlate to. Thankfully, these numbers don’t lock up again once the date has passed, allowing even new players who arrive late into the event to loot several calendar goodies.
These rewards can range from base game items like power shards to FICSMAS parts like candy canes. Some of these rewards include gifts, which often come in stacks of 100 or more. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is still a quick and easy way to collect presents.
This is a bit further down in the FICSMAS research tree, but there does exist an item that straight up generates presents over a period of time. It’s called the FICSMAS Gift Tree and it can be built with:
There is a bit of a catch with this item though. It only produces a measly 15 gifts per minute. That is not a lot by any stretch, but it does cut out the need for the player to leave their base to get presents. Of course, nothing is stopping the player from building several of these trees to increase the number of gifts generated in a minute. Provided the player has enough material, it is entirely possible to build a gift tree forest that can generate hundreds of FICSMAS gifts.
