RHOP: Monique Samuels & Jamal Bryant’s Reunion Battle Turns Legal
As a result of Monique Samuels' scathing read against Gizelle Bryant at The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, Jamal Bryant has issued out a cease-and-desist letter. However, Monique is responding to Jamal's legal request with one of her own.
Pastor Jamal Bryant was not happy after he was targeted during Monique's vicious tirade against his ex-wife and girlfriend Gizelle. Monique came to the reunion show with a vengeance after she unearthed allegations that Gizelle conspired with her ex-BFF Gigi and other housewives in an attempt to attack Monique's marriage. While Monique opted out of mentioning the rumors during the season, she admitted at the reunion that Gizelle and others were fueling rumors that she cheated on her husband Chris, and that their third child was not his. As a result, Monique called Gizelle out and her ex-husband turned boyfriend Jamal by reading a text message conversation she claimed he had with another woman while he was dating Gizelle. Following the shocking reveal, the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church leader took to his Instagram Live to accuse Monique of lying and tarnishing his good name.
As a follow up to Jamal's binder of receipts where he accused Chris of attacking the ladies at the reunion, among other things, he also hit the Samuels with a cease-and-desist, All About The Tea reports. But, the mother of three responded by having her legal team issue out her own cease-and-desist against Jamal after he falsely accused Chris Samuels of being violent towards the housewives at the reunion, as well as being verbally abusive towards his wife. Jamal had also mentioned that Chris could possibly suffer from CTE as a former NFL player. As a result, Chris is looking to sue Jamal for defamation. The pastor is being ordered to remove all social media posts in which he talks about the former linebacker and issue a public apology within three days or face a lawsuit.
The legal documents sent out by Monique's team call Jamal out for sharing “false" claims that "have no merit, and are baseless by their very nature." It continued. "Specifically, in your cease and desist letter you claim that Mrs. Samuels falsely accused you of having inappropriate relationships with members of your congregation. This allegation, however, is false and has no merit as Mrs. Samuels has irrefutable proof of your egregious sexual conduct with a woman you have been seeing for the past eight years, as well as others.” Additionally, the one Monique deemed "pastor holy whore" claimed that Monique did him harm by reading out his phone number on television. However Monique’s attorney notes that Bravo edited out Jamal's number from airing on the show.
It looks like things between the Samuels and Bryants are only heating up and Monique has added yet another housewife to her list of enemies. Candiace and Monique have been hurling insults at each other throughout the reunion. It's clear there's no room for reconciliation between the two anytime soon.
