FARMER Joe Hayden is playing his cows Christmas carols over his phone to help them produce top quality cream for Baileys.
At other times of the year he relies on Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and The Killers.

Dad of two Joe, 60 — who has 180 Holstein Friesians on his 360-acre farm near Tinahely, Co Wicklow — said: “Music has been scientifically proven to help the cows to relax and that leads to better milk.
“I’ve been working with the dairy herd here for over 40 years. Like any ladies in our lives what you give, you get back twice.”
Each year Dublin-based Baileys takes 200million litres of milk from 41,000 cows at 1,500 farms.
It hopes to make the brand the “most sustainable adult treat in the world” by 2030 by reducing emissions in its supply chain by 50 per cent.
Joe said his farm now has a greater reliance on slurry as a fertiliser, uses the warmth of fresh milk to heat water that cleans milking machines and cools the milk with water from a well.
