DEAR DEIDRE: CHRISTMAS is such a difficult issue in our house after I lost my husband last Christmas Eve.
I’m 41 and my husband was just 44 when he died from leukaemia. We tried to prepare our two daughters for it but my youngest, who is 12, has taken it very hard.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.
Send an email to problems@deardeidre.org.
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.
You can also send a private message on the DearDeidreOfficial Facebook page.

When I talk about Christmas she shuts down and sobs that she doesn’t want presents, just her dad.
We obviously had a very unhappy Christmas last year and the pandemic has only made things worse.
I want us all to be able to enjoy Christmas like my husband would have wanted.
DEIDRE SAYS: Tell your daughters you are going to plan out your whole Christmas break and ask them to help you.
Take special care that your 12-year-old is given lots of opportunity to express her feelings.
Set aside time for thinking about her dad and all support each other as you remember him. When that time is over, stick to your programme.
You can find support for bereaved children through Winston’s Wish (08088 020 021, winstonswish.org).
