A woman I met online has asked me to lend her money — should I help her out?
DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE met a woman online who has asked me to lend her the money to rent a house.
She’s a nurse in West Africa. She says her wages haven’t been paid for months and she has been thrown out on the street.
We’ve been in a long-distance relationship for three months and I hate to think of her being homeless.
She’s 25 and I’m 39.
She also said she would like to come here to work for the NHS – then we could be together.
I’m just waiting for her bank details.
Should I help her out?
