After a few updates that brought new life and new perks to the Bounty Hunter role in Red Dead Online, players can now purchase a Prestigious Bounty Hunter License and climb another 10 ranks in the career. Players who have made Bounty Hunting their role in Red Dead Online can find and capture Legendary Bounties. The targets of these hunts are often the worst of the worst criminals in the Wild West. Each of the ten Legendary Bounties comes with their own cinematic introduction, showcasing their heinous crimes. Players can bring in the targets of these bounties dead or alive, though they will earn more money for bringing the targets to the sheriff alive. Once they have their Bounty Hunting License and have navigated to the bounty board, players can complete the Bounties in any order they choose, and they can replay these as many times as they want. Each time the player replays a Legendary Bounty, it will be more difficult than the first time, though it can also often be more rewarding.
One of the Legendary Bounties a player can find and capture is Red Ben Clempson. He is a dangerous train robber, and one of the more difficult parts of his capture is figuring out exactly which train he has commandeered. Once on the train, players will need to prepare for a difficult fight against members of Ben's gang, both on horseback and in some of the train cars. Here's how to find and capture Ben Clempson in Red Dead Online.
Once players accept the bounty contract for Ben Clempson, they will be prompted to go speak to a contact at the Fort Mercer Station who has information about the train Clempson is on. This isn't the most useful step, however, because the train is not difficult to locate as long as players follow the tracks. The contact will tell the player that Clempson is robbing a train near Tumbleweed. He will then ask for a bribe in exchange for the exact location, but players should turn him down in favor of following the tracks around Tumbleweed.
There will be a few of Clempson's men on the back of the train who will attack if they notice the player. Players should be sure to eliminate them first. Headshots work best for quick, clean kills. This will also clear a space on the back of the train for the player to jump aboard from their horse.
It's a good idea to get on the train as quickly as possible. Clempson's horsemen do show up somewhat quickly, and there are many of them. They will attack and kill the player while they are out in the open and vulnerable. To evade them, players can enter the train cars and shoot from cover. The cavalry men also cannot jump onto the train, which is an advantage for the player.
As players move up the train cars, depending on their Legendary Bounty difficulty level, they may encounter two other targets in addition to Clempson. they will need to be careful. While these targets can be killed and brought in, the rewards are better for taking them alive.
Players do have the option of shooting the driver and stopping the train before eliminating all the cavalry. However, this is not an advisable move. Once the train stops moving, the men on horseback will swarm, and players can easily be killed. As long as the train is moving, the player has the advantage.
Players should find Clempson in the final carriage of the train. They will want to tackle him and may need to knock him out to prevent him from escaping. Once they take him down and get him tied up, they will need to continue to the front and shoot the train driver. They will then need to stop the train.
They can grab Clempson, and any other targets depending on difficulty, and load them onto their horse or into a Bounty Hunter wagon. If there is more than one target, the Bounty Hunter wagon will be mandatory for transporting them. Players should head back to Tumbleweed, being careful to avoid any enemies that spawn on the way, to turn Clempson in, and receive their reward.
