GREG Rutherford and his fianceé Susie Verrill are expecting a baby girl – their third child together.
The 33-year-old – who won Celebrity MasterChef in 2019 – announced the happy news on Instagram today.
Susie admitted having a “long, tough road” so far in her third pregnancy as she struggles with Hyperemesis gravidarum – a serious condition which causes extreme morning sickness.
She wrote alongside her pregnancy photo shoot: “Really happy to share we’ve got someone new joining the family early next year.
“The boys are very excited to meet their sister and we’ve been buying lots of miniature pairs of tights. It’s been another difficult HG pregnancy and a long, tough road to get here but we’re so very grateful.
“Thank you to @joannanicolephotography for capturing happy family moments as always ”
Greg’s announcement was a bit more simple, but he was clearly proud to be having a new baby.
He wrote: “Absolutely thrilled to let you all know baby no 3 is on HER way.
“WE MADE A GIRL!”
Greg – an Olympic champion – also competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.
Greg and Susie met back in 2012, so they have been together for more than eight years.
The two lovebirds got engaged in May last year and are parents to Milo, six, and Rex, three.
Susie, 31, now writes her blog mymiloandme.com
Their happy news comes after he revealed the terrifying moment he found a lump on his testicle in lockdown.
He admitted his mental health “took a beating” as he desperately tried to ignore it out of fear.
The dad-of-two couldn’t even face confiding in Susie until the “physical pain and worry” forced him to turn to a friend.
Thankfully, the lump turned out to be a cyst – and now retired long-jump champion Greg is urging his fans to get themselves checked.
Posting a snap of his family on Instagram, Greg said: “I’m a lucky man. I have a beautiful, loving family and have enjoyed years of success in a sport I loved.
“I’ve always felt somewhat invincible physically… but during lockdown that invincibility took a massive knock.
“He said what I already knew… GO AND GET IT CHECKED! After an appointment, bloods and a scan I was told it was cysts! BLOODY CYSTS. But most importantly nothing to seriously worry about. I don’t think I’ve felt relief like it.”
