Operation Gyorbagyor: Armenian Forces Eliminated Group Preparing To Attack Shushi
On November 4, Armenian forces eliminated a large group of Azerbaijani soldiers in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh in a well-planned operation code-named “Gyorbagyor.”
The troops were amassing south of the of the city of Shushi in the center of Nagorno-Karabakh. They were preparing to launch a large-scale attack on the city when they were detected by an Armenian drone, a Russian-made Orlan-10.
After being detected, the Azerbaijani troops were targeted with artillery. A video from the drone confirms that the entire group was neutralized by Armenian forces with pinpoint artillery strikes. Dozens were likely injured or killed.
Azerbaijani troops are currently stationed 12 km to the south from Shushi and less than 20 km away from the city of Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Azerbaijani military is apparently attempting to boost its advance on the ground. Earlier today, seven settlements were captured from Armenian forces.
Operation Gyorbagyor highlights the weak points of Azerbaijani troops, which don’t appear to be capable of operating without an air cover. Moreover, adverse weather conditions affect the efficiency of loitering munitions. Armenian forces will likely take advantage of this by planning more similar operations.
