DIOGO JOTA is ODDS-ON to outscore Roberto Firmino in the Premier League this season after his electric start to life at Liverpool.
The Reds’ new boy has already netted seven goals since his arrival at Anfield while Firmino only has five goals to his name in the whole of 2020.
Ladbrokes have priced Jota at 4/6 to score more goals than his Brazilian teammate in the Premier League this season.
Leaving Firmino trailing behind in the bookies’ market at 11/10 to outscore the former Wolves forward.
Jota boasts an astonishing record of scoring six goals in last four outings for the Reds.
So far the Portuguese star has bagged three Premier League goals, eclipsing Liverpool’s lead striker Firmino who has only scored once.
Jota was given the nod over Firmino in their Champions League clash against Atalanta where he went on to score a stunning hat-trick.
This saw Jota net for a fourth consecutive game but Klopp insists he does not have a selection headache.
He said: “Good performances never give me a headache.
“But the world is sometimes a really bad place that in the moment when somebody is shining, we speak immediately about another player who played for us, it feels like, 500 games in a row.
“We would not even be in the Champions League if Firmino were not with us. Yet immediately I have to explain why he is not in the team.
“He will be in the team and for a lot of people in the world, if you would ask them: ‘What makes Liverpool some days special?’ I would say the way Bobby Firmino is playing – because on a good day he is not [possible] to defend [against].”
