WWE superstars reportedly unhappy with Vince McMahon and wrestling chiefs over RAW vs Smackdown Survivor Series theme
WWE superstars are reportedly unhappy about Vince McMahon continuing the RAW versus SmackDown theme at Survivor Series 2020.
The annual extravaganza will take place on November 22 in front of the Thunderdome at Orlando’s AmWay Center.
A number of bouts have already been set with the traditional five on five traditional elimination match set to feature to determine brand supremacy.
There will also be a host of champion versus champion matches from both the red and blue brands respectively.
It has still to be confirmed whether WWE Title holder Randy Orton will battle Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
But US champ Bobby Lashley is already scheduled to face Intercontinental title holder Sami Zayn.
However, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, people within WWE are unhappy with the theme as they feel it interferes with pre-existing storylines.
He said: “They are doing matches because traditionally, that’s what they do. Again, the Survivor Series men and women’s match that’s fine.
“Whoever it’s going to be, the Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton match, it’s like they are doing it to do it.
“Granted, Roman Reigns has no opponent, but Orton does and they aren’t doing it, and it’s not like Roman Reigns is on the show this week doing something with Orton.

“I mean, Orton’s program is with Drew McIntyre and the subtle thing with The Fiend, well maybe not even that subtle, and it has nothing to do with the pay-per-view because they’re locked into this traditional thing.”
Meltzer continued: “I know a lot of people are, what’s the word I’m looking for, I know people who are not in agreement on that, in the sense of why do we have to do Bobby Lashley against Sami Zayn when nobody wants to see it, just because last year we did it this way.”
Braun Strowman defeated Keith Lee and Sheamus in a triple threat match to qualify for Team RAW on this week’s episode to join them both and AJ Styles.
It remains to be seen who SmackDown will pick to go along with Jey Uso and Kevin Owens.
RAW’s Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, and Lana will face Bianca BelAir and four other SmackDown members in the women’s five vs. five match.
