Monica Denies Dating C-Murder When She Was Underage
Monica is about tired of ya’ll spreading lies about her in these internet streets … and now she’s setting the record straight.
You may have heard a rumor that Monica and her ex-boyfriend C-Murder started dating when she was 16 and he was 26. We heard the rumor too but didn’t report on it because there wasn’t any proof to substantiate it. Also Monica and C-Murder have both spoken about their romance and alluded to it beginning sometime in the late 90s, but we’ll get back to that.
A fan however made the mistake of posting said rumor like it was gospel in the comments section of a post about the R&B singer and she clapped back saying “LIE NOT TRUE AT ALL” in all caps.
As previously reported Monica has been working tirelessly to get C-Murder real name Corey Miller out of jail. The No Limit MC has been incarcerated since 2002 for his involvement in the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas, and was sentenced to life in prison.
At the time of his arrest Miller says he told Monica to “go live your life” which he shared in an Instagram post back in August.
Monica revealed in an interview with Vibe Magazine back in 2002 that she met and began dating Jarvis “Knot” Weems when she was 16-years-old. Weems would later commit suicide while Monica was with him in 2000 following the death of his brother.
As for Miller, she told Vibe rapper Foxy Brown introduced them while she and Weems were on a break. Their romance was brief but whirlwind. Monica revealed Miller proposed to her and was by her side when she collapsed on stage in 1998. Soon after they split, Miller met and married another woman in 1999.
Monica adamantly denied rumors that she continued dating Miller while he was married, but said they remained friends. “I don’t know what God holds for either of us, but Corey and I will be the best of friends until the day I die,” she said.
