Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Tomas Taveres looks set on his way out of Benfica in the coming days, according to A Bola.
The right-back has found himself as part of the Portuguese giants’ B team after manager Jorge Jesus decided against including the 19-year-old in his first team plans (Mais).
A Bola report that Taveres’ future at the Portuguese giants could be over in the next week, with his exit likely to be an initial loan deal with an option to buy clause valued in the region of £30million.
Tottenham were previously linked with a move for Tavares by The Mirror (23 August, page 58) and despite having added Matt Doherty to their squad, question marks still surround the future of fellow right-back Serge Aurier.
The Ivorian international is said to be surplus to requirements in North London (The Sun) with the club ready to allow him to leave.

Aurier’s departure would leave Doherty as the only senior right-back in the squad, while the arrival of Taveres on a loan deal to provide cover could prove to be a shrewd move if Spurs are looking to recoup a few million pounds in revenue.
