On Thursday night in the US fans had the chance to see unbeaten Kazakh hopeful Serik Musadilov (7-0, 7) score his latest win, as he stopped the over-matched Kent Holland (4-6-1, 2) and claimed the American Boxing Federation Atlantic Cruiserweight title. Nope, we're not making the name of that title up!
The unbeaten Kazakh, dubbed "Panda" dropped his man twice in round 2 and looked several levels above Holland, who was saved after the second knockdown.
The win was a 7th early one for Musadilov but in reality we really don't know anything about how good he actually is. Holland didn't put up anything resembling a fight here and, and none of Musadilov's previous 6 opponents have given him anything to think about either.
Interestingly the unbeaten Kazakh is pencilled in to fight against in October, against Joe Jones (11-2, 8), so fingers crossed that we do see him getting an actual test there. Musadilov looks good to the eye, but he's essentially been can crushing since turning professional and Jones should provide some much needed resistance for the Kazakh hopeful.
