STRICTLY’s Craig Revel-Horwood is “determined to be a better husband” after the marriage to his wife broke down 30 years ago.
Craig, 55, got engaged to his boyfriend of two years Jonathan Myring, 35, in March, after they originally met on the dating app Tinder.
The romance came as a surprise to the Strictly judge, who had vowed to remain single after his marriage to ex-wife Jane collapsed after just two-and-a-half years 30 years ago.
In an interview with The Mirror, Craig said: “Things are definitely different this time.
“I could never really see myself remarrying, but this feels right. It feels like the right time, and I fancy sharing my life, and the rest of my life, with Jonathan.”
The couple have spent lockdown together in Craig’s vast Hampshire mansion.
Of the experience, Craig said: “It was either going to go well or go badly, and luckily enough it went fantastically well, we really like each other’s company.”
The couple are now planning to celebrate their nuptials in 2022, at a suitably grand ceremony when social distancing will hopefully be a thing of the past.
Horticulturist Jonathan originally surprised Craig with his proposition during a trip to a national park.
He stripped off in a salt bath and dropped to one knee to ask the question as the pair were enjoying champagne.
In an interview with OK!, Craig called the moment “hilarious” and “sweet”, and he answered the way Strictly fans would expect.
He explained: “I said, ‘Absolutely not!’ [laughs]. And then I said, ‘Oh, alright then, I’ve changed my mind.’
“I thought it was really sweet, actually, because Jonathan just said, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.'”
