THE gunman suspected of shooting a 15-year-old boy in Ipswich was a ‘teen pupil’ who lay in wait for the boy this morning, cops believe.
The attacker, understood to be 15 or 16, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly shooting the victim on his way to school.
The teenage victim suffered “serious” injuries and had to be airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, police said.
A police statement said officers were called just after 8.40am today to reports of a shooting in Friends Walk, near Kesgrave High School.
A teenage boy has been taken into police custody for questioning.
