SHOPPERS picking up last-minute bank holiday bits and pieces should check opening times before heading out the door.
The bank holiday on Monday 31 August means supermarket hours can vary.
Here are Sainsbury’s opening times this weekend.
Many stores will have shorter opening times than a usual Monday, but this can vary from one branch to another so it’s always worth checking.
Some larger Sainsbury’s stores will be open from 10am until 5pm instead of 7am until 8pm. Others are open from 8am until 8pm instead of 7am until 10pm.
Smaller Sainsbury’s Local stores are generally open as usual.
On Saturday and Sunday before the bank holiday Monday, Sainsbury’s will have it’s usual opening hours.
Times will vary between branches and locations, however, and coronavirus can still disrupt shopping in some areas.
Some shopping times are also reserved. These priority shopping hours help the elderly, disabled and those working for the NHS shop more safely.
Using Sainsbury’s online store locator is a simple way to check opening times.
You just need to enter for your local store, area or address. Then check the store details for the shop you’re planning to visit.
This information includes the shop’s normal opening hours as well as any bank holiday changes.
The next bank holiday is like to be colder. That’s because it’s on 25 December – Christmas Day!
The Boxing Day bank holiday then falls on Monday 28 December rather than Saturday 26 December.
Scotland will enjoy one a little sooner too. St Andrew’s Day on 30 November is a bank holiday.
The August bank holiday weekend is expected to be a soggy one with heavy downpours expected at the start.
