You don't want to miss NASCAR's regular-season finale at Daytona.
The NASCAR regular season will come to an end Saturday night at one of the series’ most unpredictable tracks. A total of 13 drivers have clinched playoff berths, so there are three spots remaining for the 10-race Cup Series playoff that begins next weekend at Darlington.
Seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is currently four points out of playoff position, trailing Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron.
Clint Bowyer and Matt DiBenedetto are in a good position to qualify for the playoffs on points – but a wild card victory by a driver not currently in the playoff field could change everything. Anything can happen at Daytona, and the race winner will qualify for the playoffs automatically – meaning this is the most important race of the year for the majority of the field.
Instead of relying on a random draw as NASCAR has done for much of the season, the starting lineup was set based on a new lineup formula. After winning last Sunday at Dover, Kevin Harvick will start on pole, alongside Martin Truex Jr.
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC on Saturday.
Here’s the starting lineup for the race.
