Before Grounded took the gaming world by storm, Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds was delighting audiences and allowing them to live out their fantasy of space exploration. The Outer Worlds is an RPG set in a corporate-run space colony. The choices a player makes will determine the outcome.
Once players make it to the endgame, they may not quite feel done with the Halcyon colony. While there isn't any true endgame content, and while the DLC Peril on Gorgon is still a little time away, players can likely find many things to do beyond the credits rolling. Once players reach a Point of No Return in Outer Worlds, they are not able to complete any side quests they may have missed prior to the endgame. They can, however, reload an old save file and go back to finish anything they may have missed or continue playing. They can also start again. Explore Every Planet in Halcyon
Halcyon is big, and there are many planets to explore in it. Players can sometimes get so focused on questing that they miss the chance to just explore. Whether or not there are still quests left to do, players should make a point to travel to every planet again and make sure to see everything they have to offer. Players may find some new NPCs to interact with, see the effects of the decisions they made during the game, and collect a few more items and unique weapons.
Finish Remaining Companion Quests
The gameplay and writing truly shine in The Outer Worlds when focusing on the companions. Players get to know their companions best through their special companion quests. Technically, players should try to complete these before the endgame. If they have not, it is a good idea to go back and make sure to complete them all. If a player does nothing else following the credits, they should be sure to do this.
Collect All Science Weapons
There are a few weapons in the game that make combat far easier. Players can find these five science weapons, which go further than any of the typical weapons available in the game. Rather than shooting or slashing, these weapons use scientific skills to give the player an advantage in a fight. If they haven't already, players should return to the last save file and seek out the Shrink Ray, Prismatic Hammer, Mandibular Rearranger, Gloop Gun, and Mind Control Ray. Upon doing so, they can go on a rampage against NPCs if they want to, just to try each one out.
Start a New Game and Make New Choices
With choice-based RPGs, it's hard not to wonder "what if." Players may find themselves wishing they knew what the outcome or the ending would be if they had made a different decision during the game. The Outer Worlds is the kind of game that has great replayability that lets players have a completely different experience if they make different choices.
