Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been one of the biggest success stories of 2020 so far. The silly characters and simple-yet-competitive gameplay have been a hit since the day it was released, even breaking records on some platforms. The cheerful game has brought together a massive community of players and the hype doesn't seem like it'll die down anytime soon.
Gamescom 2020 recently released a sneak peek at Fall Guys season 2 and it promises to bring even more of the silliness and platforming challenges that players love to the game. This time however, the developers at Mediatonic have added a twist. Season 2 will be medieval fantasy-themed and will bring new rounds, costumes, and challenges (all centered around this theme) to the battle royale. These new costumes and rounds are especially exciting, as they are a good indicator of what players might be able to expect from future seasons.
The Fall Guys season 2 sneak peek showed off fantastic costumes that players will be able to equip and, with the game's mix-and-match options, things are sure to get pretty crazy. The costumes shown in the sneak peek were a variety of knights, dragons, vikings, witches, and wizards of many different colors. Fans who already love the silly, yet ingeniously simple, characters of Fall Guys are sure to enjoy the new customization options once Season 2 rolls around. Fortunately, for those who want a closer look at some of the new costumes in season 2, the publisher of Fall Guys, Devolver Digital, has put the sneak peek up on YouTube.
More than just cosmetics will be coming to Fall Guys season 2 however, as the sneak peek also revealed five new medieval-themed rounds that will be coming to the game. The first new mini-game appears to be a race to climb various blocks over a bunch of castle walls, dodging swinging spiky balls to cross the finish line. The second round has many obstacles that players will have to dodge and manage, ranging from rotating spiked cylinders to drawbridges that raise and lower.
The third round shown didn't have many details, but it is a team game and seems to want players to collect rocks from the middle of the map and bring them to their team's area. The fourth round is another team game set in a large arena with pushable ramps. The goal of this round seems to be to dive through a series of rings around the arena, much like a game which already exists in Fall Guys, but with the added difficulty of having to move blocks and ramps around to reach the rings themselves.
The fifth and final round shown in the sneak peak appears to be quite similar to the first, though in this one it appears that players will have to move blocks to get over a series of walls. The end might be a bit chaotic on this one too, as a hill that is likely to be covered in Fall Guys' trademark slime awaits those who get over there.
Whether it's the players who just want some silly fun, or those who are in it to win it, Fall Guys season 2 is sure to bring even more of the elements that players love into the game. Even the players who dread team rounds should be happy, as those appear to be in the minority. Despite how great Season 2 looks though, it has not yet received a release date, meaning fans will have to stick with the game as is a little longer before the new season comes out.
