CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Police has reportedly taken custody of a Chinese suspected of kidnapping two fellow Chinese here, but authorities are not talking about the incident. In an interview with The Manila Times Thursday, Lt. Col. Mardi Hortilloza, police spokesman for the regional police office here, said the authorities wre withholding information about the incident for security reasons. He, however, said a case had been filed with the suspect, who was arrested during a chase with pursuing police officers early Tuesday along Osmeña Street here. An initial police investigation disclosed that during the chase, the suspect who was driving a car, rammed the service vehicle owned by the Manila Bulletin on the corner of Osmeña and Ramonal Streets, which resulted in his arrest. The suspect, whose name is withheld, is now in the custody of the law enforcers while an investigation is being undertaken about the alleged kidnapping. A police officer told The Manila Times that the alleged kidnapping victims have been rescued and were unharmed.
