A worried shopper called police over fears a piece of turkey she’d bought was actually a severed human penis. Lamia Singfield, from Akron in Ohio, appealed for help after noticing one of the smoked turkey tails looked dramatically different to the others in the packet.
She went on Facebook Live to ask friends for their thoughts, and became increasingly worried the mystery meat bought from local Save A Lot supermarket to put in a smoked bean casserole was actually a man’s member.
In footage first flagged up by the Akron Beacon-Journal, Lamia said: ‘I’m calling Save A Lot, this ain’t right. I know what this is.
‘I hope it’s not a human, because then somebody is missing something that they need or somebody might be dead. I just want answers.’
Lamia was further concerned after realizing her receipt said the packet contained turkey tails, only for the packaging itself to claim its contents were pork tails.
Police arrived on the scene shortly afterwards, and were seen taking the phallic-shaped piece of meat away for an examination. On Wednesday, a medical examiner ruled that the meat was not human, and was almost certainly pork.
It is believed to be a pork tail with a bone still inside, which is likely responsible for the flesh’s phallic appearance.
A Save A Lot spokesman said they were taking the complaint ‘very seriously’ and would escalate it if contacted by Lamia or the police.
Lamia says she has hired an attorney, and accused Save A Lot of selling her mislabeled meat.
