Referees for the National Basketball Association currently working in the “NBA bubble” in Orlando, Florida, staged a walkout on August 27 in protest over the shooting of Jacob Blake by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday. The action came after the NBA postponed its Wednesday games and the Milwaukee Bucks boycotted their game against the Orlando Magic. The NBA referees tweeted, “The NBRA stands in solidarity with our players’ decision to boycott tonight’s games in protest of the continued unjustified killing of black men and women by law enforcement. There are more important issues in our country than basketball and we hope this will inspire change.” Credit: Breanna Sorensen via Storyful
