Every New & Returning Character In COD: Black Ops Cold War's Trailer
Thanks to a new reveal trailer, excitement is high for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which releases on November 13th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Taking place at the height of the Cold War in the 1980s, the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops game is a direct sequel to the 2010 original. The latest trailer features quite a few returning characters, and a bunch of new ones — some of whom are based on real-world people.
The new trailer is full of Cold War tensions and historical moments. The thriller-like plot concerns a mysterious spy named Perseus, who's given a nuclear weapon to the Vietcong and created even more tension between the United States and Soviet Russia. Like most of the characters in the game, fans don't know much about Perseus yet.
However, one of the new characters in Black Ops Cold War knows a bit about the enigmatic Perseus. This new character, Russell Adler, is a CIA operative and Vietnam War veteran. Adler has been described by developers as a man with dark edges, who often takes things too personally. It appears Adler will play a major role in the new Call of Duty game, and his character is voiced by Bruce Thomas, who's appeared in various video games like Halo 4 and Final Fantasy XIII.
The trailer also features real-world political figures as new characters, including Secretary of State Alexander Haig and Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, who's brought to life with impressively accurate CGI and voice acting. There are several other new story characters as well: Lazar Azoulay, Helen Park, and Lawrence Sims. There's not a whole lot to know about them yet, but they will all be allies during the Black Ops Cold War campaign.
Quite a few fan-favorites are returning to the game, including Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, and Frank Woods. All of them are shown in the trailer and will be helping players track down Perseus before it's too late. As for actual playable characters, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have players creating their own characters, which will include military backgrounds and gender. The game will allow them to alter various aspects of the story, including Black Ops Cold War's multiple endings.
