This is encouraging
As we’ve said from time to time, it’s a good idea to check in with other fan bases and sites for recruiting intel. So we were pleased to see that this site doesn’t think that UNC can beat Duke for Patrick Baldwin.
The source?
Corey Evans: “. . . I give the Tar Heels very little chance with Pat Baldwin, despite Paolo Banchero’s commitment to Duke last week. That doesn’t mean that UNC hasn’t invested the proper time in recruiting Baldwin, but rather that Banchero’s decision has very little impact on whether Baldwin chooses UNC. The two players would only make each other better, so Duke is the team to beat. If he doesn’t pick the blueblood program it will be because it was too difficult to decline the chance to play for his dad at Milwaukee.”
It must be an interesting family dynamic for a coach and a talented son. Al McGuire told his Marquette players that obviously he wanted to start his son so they’d better be damned good to push him out. Jeff Capel Jr. told his son Jason that UNC was a better choice than his Old Dominion program, advice that did not go over well at ODU. What advice will coach Baldwin give his son?
